The Grow & Show takes place at every meeting; the revised process is outlined below. Please find below a summary of the basic Guidelines to clarify the process and encourage you to participate. All entries must be from your own garden unless stated otherwise in this schedule. There are non-judged and judged classes that can be entered. Enter as many times as you wish. There is no limit as to the number of entries you are allowed to place in any particular class. Place your entries by 6:20 pm on the designated preparation table and fill out the Entry Card. Non-judged Entries - On the Entry Card, please print your name and name(s) of the plants and variety, if known. Place the card on or beside your entry. The person with the most entries during the year will receive a prize, the KGC Participation Award, at the December Christmas Social. Judged Entries -Trophy Classes - those classes are marked with an asterisk (*). On the Entry Card, please print your name and fold the card to hide your name. Also print the name(s), if known, of the plants & variety in your entry. Place the card on or beside your entry. Names will be revealed after judging has been completed. All judging will be done by a Floral Art and/or Horticultural Judge (certified by BC Council of Garden Clubs). The trophy will be presented to the winner and the winner will be given a medallion to keep. Points earned in the trophy classes will be tallied and the member with the most points earned will be presented with the KGC Aggregate Trophy at the December Christmas Social. Points are awarded as follows: Three (3) points for each first place Two (2) points for each second place One (1) point for each third place Show and Tell - this class is for members to bring any plant, flower, fruit, or vegetable that is unusual or a new variety or would be of special interest to the members. On the Entry Card, please print your name and name(s) of the plants and variety, if known. The yearly schedule located at the bottom of this page is also published in the monthly newsletter. However, please check the newsletter each month as changes sometimes need to be made depending on the weather and what is growing in our gardens.
